Monica Ngunrempar Uk is Chin and was born in the capital of Mizoram, India. Her parents are both from the Chin Hills in Myanmar. Monica and her family came to the United States in January of 2000 and now live in Maryland. Monica is currently working on a Master's degree in Biomedical Science and works full-time as a scientist at a biotechnology company in Maryland. Her commitment to Christ and involvement in a church came at a young age and have always been a big part of her life. Currently, Monica is a member of the Chin Baptist Mission Church (CBMC) in the Washington D.C. area. She has been part of youth leadership there since 2005 and has served as the Youth Fellowship's secretary since 2010. Monica says, “Singing has always been my hobby and singing gospel songs has also brought me closer to God. Being part of a Praise & Worship team and singing His praises among other people for me is a way to serve God in a small way.”
Daryl Jerome Walker is a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics student at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Walker recently completed a three-year contract as the Performing Director of the Spirituals Project. Daryl is a self-described “singing-activist,” and is a sought after musician in Denver. After concluding his duties with the Spirituals Project, he immediately accepted the call to be the Sacred Theologian and Music Minister for Campbell African American Episcopal Church. Daryl is no stranger to the American Baptist Churches Biennial, having led worship in Puerto Rico in 2011.
Hannah Siglin is a nineteen-year-old singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Spokane, Washington. She began guitar lessons at age seven to accompany her voice, and a love for words and her education in classical music have shaped her into a multifaceted performer. She currently studies guitar performance, songwriting, and music business at Berklee College of Music and can often be found leading worship at the First Baptist Church of Winchester, Massachusetts.
Kevin Padworski began his musical studies on piano at age 7, started learning the saxophone when he was 9, began vocal and organ instruction at 13, and accepted his first professional organist position the same year. As a career musician he serves as the Director of Music and Organist at Calvary Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado, and the Artistic Director of The Colorado Chorale. Kevin loves “what art and music do for the soul.” He is married to Rachel, also a musician, and they have a beautiful baby boy named Nolan.
