What are the Mission Summit Conversations?
The Mission Summit Conversations are an open opportunity for anyone attending the 2017 Biennial Mission Summit to engage in meaningful dialogue about a topic of interest by self-selecting into a small group. The Mission Summit Conversations are the heart of the Biennial Mission Summit. The conversations at this event will coincide with the seven Mission Table priorities, developed out of grass roots efforts and previous Mission Summit Conversations. The seven topics of conversation for the 2017 Biennial Mission Summit are:
All of the conversations will occur simultaneously on Saturday morning. During the first phase of the 90 minute conversation time, attendees will have an opportunity hear updates of local, regional, and national mission and ministry activity related to the conversations. During phase two, participants will engage in dialogue about what they have heard and what they hope for regarding the topics of conversation.
As you register for the Biennial Mission Summit, be sure to also register for one of the Mission Summit Conversation topics. In order to better prepare for the conversations, participants are encouraged to review the case statement for their topic in advance of the event. Case statements for each of the priorities were developed at the Mission Table event. Visit www.abc-usa.org/seven-priorities to view the case statements, or click on one of the seven following priorities: Next Generation of Leaders, Anti-Violence, Discipleship, Ending Poverty, Gospel in a Rapidly Changing Society, Women in Ministry, and Innovative Models for Pastoral Ministry.
